The 21st Century College Student

Information is everywhere for the 21st century learner, and they do not hesitate to share that information from behind a screen. Social media had been a way of life for this generation, yet even with their steady usage of social media tools, many students lack the social skills needed to be successful in academic and professional settings. In this session, we will discuss our observations of and experiences with new college students including the benefits of using collaboration classrooms and technology.

Presenters

Caroline Jamroz and Latoya Lewis, professors at Lone Star College-Tomball, are frequent collaborators on grants, presentations, and teaching. Their most recent grant includes technology to engage and instruct our growing online student population.
