Debbie Perez is a Secondary ELAR Coordinator for Humble ISD and an adjunct professor for the University of Houston-Downtown. She's a current Curriculum & Instruction doctoral candidate at Texas A&M University, focusing her research on literacy instruction. She is an instructor for UHD's Department of Urban Education teacher preparation program and has previously taught college-level writing, humanities, and literature courses. For 11 years, she also taught both middle school and high school English classes.
